BRATTLEBORO, Vt. -- A Manchester, N.H., man has been convicted in federal court in Vermont of conspiracy to import marijuana from Canada and possession with intent to sell.
Scott Frechette, 35, is one of nine people who authorities said teamed up to smuggle hundreds of pounds of marijuana into America.
A Canadian customs official with more than 20 years of experience also has been arrested and charged in the case.
Frechette will be sentenced in March.
In addition, he has been ordered to forfeit half the interest in his Manchester home, $65,000 in cash seized there and his 2002 Chevy truck.
