Prison Officer Arrested

(Columbia) - A S.C. Department of Corrections officer was arrested on Tuesday after investigators say he took marijuana from an undercover SLED officer.
Ernest Hallman, 50, of Columbia, is charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Public Official/Misconduct in Office, and Furnishing Contraband to Prisoners.
Warrants accuse the Kirkland Correctional Institute officer of accepting two ounces of marijuana to be delivered to an inmate.
Hallman was booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention
Center in Richland County.
The arrest was the result of a joint investigation conducted by SLED and the S.C. Dept. of Corrections.
