CLINTON TOWNSHIP -- Panicked Interstate 78 drivers called 911 Sunday afternoon when they saw a van passenger whose mouth was covered in duct tape as he held a sign calling for help.
What they probably didn't know, though, was that the incident, in which another passenger displayed bound wrists, was a hoax.
The men said they were musicians who were passing through the area, Sofhauser said.
All were being taken to Hunterdon County Jail in Flemington, with bail set at $2,500 cash for each man. The men still were being processed Sunday evening and had not arrived at the jail, a jail official said.
Of course, they were also charged for pot.
