Agencies unite to pull off drug raid

Over 60 officers from the White County Sheriff’s Department, Monticello Police Department, Gibson County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana State Police officers from the Lafayette, Peru and Lowell districts, Indiana Conservation Officers, Monon Town Marshal’s Office, Indiana State Police Methamphetamine Suppression Unit and Indiana Drug Enforcement Task Force took part in the raid.
One issue facing those involved in the Wednesday morning raid was to make sure the manpower was arranged in a manner that still kept the element of surprise.
“One of the problems of all the arrangement of manpower is to keep it as confidential as you can,” Guy commented. “You obviously coordinate extra jail staff for the booking process, notifying different law enforcement agencies for their assistance and give different social services a heads up.
The investigation, initiated by the White County Drug Task Force and Monticello Police Department, concluded with the arrest of 24 individuals, including one juvenile
