Woman accused of stealing Hospice patient’s pain meds

Gallatin Police arrested a Joelton woman and charged her with theft after a terminally ill Hospice patient in Gallatin Healthcare reported that a woman stole the morphine pain patch from her body on two separate occasions.

Police arrested Stacey Renee Cox, 29, of 8483 Whites Creek Pike, Joelton, on May 4 and charged her with two counts of aggravated burglary, two counts of impersonating a police officer, two counts of theft under $500, two counts of possession of schedule II drugs and criminal trespassing in connection to the theft, according to court records.

Gallatin Police opened the case after Gallatin Healthcare Superintendent Sonya Kemp reported that a patient told her that a woman had entered her room twice and stolen her pain patch.
