Do you really believe that a 92 year-old lady in fear for her life, stratled after dark by armed men charging in her house possessed the ability to fire and hit three cops? Don't you find it a tad suspicious that the injuries were to the arm, shoulder and leg?
I think these wounds may turn out to be self inflicted. Notice the radio transmissions did not start until after the shooting was over.

This lady may have been innocent, but she was far from helpless. She got off six shots from a revolver and hit on five of them.
