Bad Day at the Have A Nice Day Cafe
Four Louisville Metro police officers have been fired for allegedly beating a man during a 2003 arrest. Chief Robert White calls the officers actions unprovoked and says they lied during the department's probe.
Chief White fired the four officers because of their actions the night of August 15, 2003, when they arrested Erik Wolfe.
According to police reports, Wolfe was at the Have A Nice Day Cafe when he got into an altercation with a customer and was asked to leave.
When he refused, police arrested him. On the way to jail, police reports say Wolfe was banging his head against the inside the police car. That's when the officers stopped the car and the alleged abuse began.
Chief White says all four officers were involved when Wolfe was pulled out of the car and beaten with batons and a flashlight.
