Suspended Mississippi State lineman leaves school

STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) - Mississippi State offensive lineman Richard Burch has apparently played his last game for the Bulldogs.

The left tackle has withdrawn from school nearly a month after being suspended from the team following his Jan. 24 arrest on drug charges. Burch, 21, was charged with selling more than one ounce of marijuana after a raid on his apartment in Starkville.

The charge carries a maximum penalty of a $1 million fine and/or 30 years in prison.
