OWEGO, N.Y. - Yesterday wasn't a good day for a Binghamton-area man.
Authorities say 19-year-old Nicholas Espe (es-pee) called police after two men smashed through the door of his village of Owego apartment.
Espe told cops that the men demanded money. When he didn't comply, Espe said they struck him with a baseball bat and bit him several times.
Investigators checking out Espe's story obtained a search warrant for his place, where they say they found more than a thousand dollars in cash and over two ounces of marijuana.
Espe wound up being charged with criminal possession of marijuana. Police say he declined medical attention for the injuries caused by the bat and the bites.
