Two UA football players arrested on marijuana charges

Northwest Arkansas Times, AR

Two University of Arkansas football players were arrested on drug charges Wednesday evening after university police caught them smoking marijuana in their dorm room.

Michael Tate and Fred Bledsoe, both 19, were arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

According to Lt. Gary Crain, university police were dispatched to the Northwest Quad at 1108 W. Maple in reference to a marijuana odor. "Police officers knocked on the door from where the smell was coming from and arrested Tate and Bledsoe," Crain said. "Police recovered approximately 5 grams of marijuana."

Tate and Bledsoe were transported to the Washington County Jail. A few hours later, they were released on a $500 bond.
