SCDC officer arrested, charged for selling marijuana to prisoners

(Greenville County) January 5, 2006 - A South Carolina Department of Corrections officer was arrested Wednesday and charged with possesion with intent to distribute marijuana, conspiracy to distribute marijuana, distribution of marijuana and furnishing contraband to prisoners.
The Perry Correctional Officer has been identified. An arrest warrant states Leon Rhodes 'did posess a quantity of green plant material in excess of 28 grams which tested postive as marijuana.'
Rhodes was booked at the Greenville County Detention Center following an investigation conducted by SLED and the SCDC.
