SAN DIEGO (AP) - It's not what's on T-V that's gotten a truck driver in trouble with the law -- but what was in the T-V shipment. Customs agents report finding more than five tons of pot hidden in a truck-load of T-V sets stopped at the border in San Diego. According to federal authorities, a drug-sniffing dog alerted agents that something suspicious was in the 18-wheeler. Agents say the driver (Hector Mendez Navarro) admitted he was to be paid 50-thousand dollars for driving the load of weed into the U-S from Mexico. He now faces federal drug smuggling charges.
