Drug Raid Ends in Fireball
NEAR BOTOGA, COLOMBIA-January 9, 2005 — The Colombian Air Force tracked a suspected drug runner outside Bogota.
He landed as instructed and taxied to a stop at a small airfield. But then, he allegedly refused to radio in identification and apparently re-starts his engines.
That prompted a hail of bullets that tore through the plane. The aircraft then burst into flames and broke in half.
There's no official word if anyone made it out of the plane alive.
