SHAMOKIN — According to a criminal complaint, Tallon is accused of selling an eighth of an ounce of marijuana for $20 to a 16-year-old confidential informant at 7:30 p.m. Monday at his home
Authorities from at least seven different law enforcement agencies converged on their home Wednesday night and apprehended Tallon and Musser.
Shamokin Police Chief Richard R. Nichols said neither suspect resisted arrest. He said two children at the home were placed into the custody of Northumberland County Children and Youth.
Two pet dogs also were removed from the home.
During Wednesday night’s raid, authorities cordoned off the 1000 block of East Clay Street as officers moved in and out of the home, which was rented by the pair.
Nichols said police photographed the scene and searched the residence throughout the night. Several police vehicles, including the city’s special operations vehicle, were stationed in front of the home.
The drug raid was a joint effort between city police, Mount Carmel police and the drug task force.
Assisting authorities were the Northeast Pennsylvania Counter Drug Training Center and its RAID Unit, which utilized a black helicopter to sweep through the night sky nearby, lighting up homes and yards in helping city police carry out the raid. The helicopter, seen in the area early Wednesday evening, departed the scene just before 8 p.m.
Also assisting were the Northumberland County District Attorney’s Office, Montour County Sheriff’s Office and its K-9 Unit, and Northumberland County Adult Probation. In all, upwards of 20 law enforcement officials were involved.
