Former Rock Hill officer charged with assault
YORK, S.C. - A former high-ranking Rock Hill police officer was arrested Monday after a grand jury indicted him on charges of beating three men while on duty, the State Law Enforcement Division said.
Williams kicked the men while they were subdued or lying on the ground, according to the indictment. One man was sprayed in the face with a chemical and another had dirt kicked in his face, the indictment said.
The department also sent five other cases involving Williams for investigation by SLED. All the cases involved black men. Williams is white.
