Top officials with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation briefed the consul general of Mexico today on the status of the search for the people who killed the six workers and injured five others.

G-B-I Director Vernon Keenan says Consul General Remedios Gomez-Arnau asked -- quote -- "some hard questions about why something like this happens."

He says she talked about the fear in the Hispanic community because of the killings on Friday in four mobile home parks.

Keenan says Hispanics are targets for such attacks because they often carry large sums of money. He noted there had been about 20 home-invasion robberies in Cook, Colquitt and Tift counties within the last three months.

These people are being targeted because they do not have the right papers you need to get a bank account.
