PRATTVILLE -- The transportation director for the Hoover City School system was charged with indecent exposure early Thursday after an Autauga County Sheriff's deputy spotted him walking nude on an Interstate 65 overpass.

Kenneth Paul Young, 48, of Prattville faces one count of indecent exposure, a misdemeanor, according to an arrest report. He was released from the Autauga Metro Jail on a $500 bond.

"It was a mistake, and I'm sorry," Young said in a telephone interview Thursday afternoon. He would not elaborate.

If found guilty, Young could face a fine of up to $2,000 and a jail sentence of a year in the metro jail, said District Attorney Randall Houston.

The incident occurred about 7 a.m. on the County Road 68 overpass, reports state. The bridge is about 10 miles north of Prattville.

The sheriff's office has received a dozen complaints, dating to Oct. 29, of a man exposing himself near or on the overpass, police reports show. Young is not charged in connection with those complaints and that investigation is continuing.

Young has been with the Hoover school system about five years. Previously, he was director of the transportation arm of the Autauga County School System. He stepped down from the Prattville position to take the post at the larger school system.

Not just naked in public but naked on the interstate overpass during morning rush hour.
This should serve as an inspiration to us all.
Why settle for simply screwing up when, with a little more time effort and preparation, you can spectacularly and royally screw up?
Believe in yourself, live for your dreams and never settle for second best.

  • I know that guy, he has a really good body. Maybe he just wanted others to have a nice view on their way to work.
